Before Meadowglen residents consider buying an electric vehicle, please be aware that the electrical infrastructure that provides power to the garages and outdoor lighting, is not well equipped to handle the loads necessary to charge EVs. At best EV owners can charge their vehicle at level 1 (basic 120v/15amp outlet), which can take upwards of 12 hours to reach 100% battery. However, level 1 charging is best used on a dedicated circuit, which the garages don’t have. Therefore charging electric vehicles in unit garages is not recommended.
